MADI, Dante & USB 3.0 Digital Audio Interface
Solid State Logic proudly introduces the UMD192, the most powerful MADI and Dante digital audio interface available. Designed for the highest demands of live sound, broadcast, post-production and high-end studio environments, the UMD192 combines extreme channel counts, ultra-low latency and flexible format bridging in a compact and portable ½-rack unit.
Supporting up to 192 channels at 44.1, 48, 88.2 and 96 kHz, or 128 channels at 176.4 and 192 kHz, the UMD192 delivers uncompromising performance for large-scale recording, playback and networked audio workflows.
The Perfect Bridge Between USB, MADI and Dante
Built for maximum versatility, the UMD192 enables bidirectional audio routing between any two formats — MADI, Dante or USB — while allowing the third format to receive a split feed. This makes it ideal for:
- Bridging multiple MADI-connected devices into a Dante AoIP network
- High-channel-count multitrack recording and playback via USB 3.0
- Flexible format conversion in complex live, broadcast and studio systems
On the network side, the UMD192 provides fully interoperable Dante AoIP, with AES67 and ST 2110 (with DDM) support, and ultra-low Dante latency down to just 0.25 ms. Flexible clocking allows synchronisation from either MADI or Dante, supporting sample rates from 44.1 kHz to 192 kHz.
Built for Mission-Critical Workflows
Equipped with six MADI BNC pairs, the UMD192 can be configured in redundant mode, enabling three dual-redundant MADI connections for broadcast and live sound applications where reliability is essential.
Ethernet connectivity includes two Primary and two Secondary ports, each with link and activity LEDs, ensuring secure and dependable network operation in demanding environments.

Intuitive Front Panel Control
The UMD192 features a clear, high-visibility front panel with real-time feedback for signal flow, sample-rate synchronisation, power status and network connectivity — keeping you informed, even under pressure.
To protect critical configurations, front panel controls are locked by default. A dedicated lockout system prevents accidental changes during operation:
-
Lockout – Press and hold to unlock controls
-
Mode – Cycle through signal flow modes
-
Clock Source – Toggle between Dante and MADI
- MADI Redundancy – Enable or disable redundant operation across all MADI ports
This thoughtful design ensures confidence and control in live and broadcast scenarios.

Flexible Power with Built-In Redundancy
The UMD192 supports multiple power sources, allowing engineers to build redundancy into their setup:
- AC mains power
- Power over Ethernet (PoE)
- USB power
Any source can be used independently, and PoE can be combined with an external PSU to provide a fully redundant power supply — ideal for mission-critical installations.
Mac & Windows Compatible
UMD192 is a USB 3.0 class-compliant audio interface for macOS, operating natively with Core Audio and requiring no additional drivers. Simply connect a Mac, select SSL as the audio device, and start working immediately — perfect for guest engineers and fast-turnaround sessions.
On Windows, the UMD192 uses the SSL ASIO driver, available from the Solid State Logic Support Portal. The drivers are multi-client, allowing multiple ASIO applications to access the interface simultaneously.

Ideal for Live, Broadcast and Studio
While a natural fit for live sound environments, the UMD192 is equally at home in broadcast music recording, post-production and high-channel-count studio sessions. It integrates seamlessly with SSL System T, pairs perfectly with SSL ORIGIN and Oracle consoles, and serves as an ideal computer interface for Harrison 32Classic systems with Dante.
For both SSL and non-SSL console users, the UMD192 delivers exceptional connectivity, operational flexibility and future-ready performance.
