The SSL E Series 500 Series module is specifically designed to operate in an API 500 series rack, such as the API Lunchbox® or equivalent. With a nominal +4dBu input/output level, this module brings you the unmistakable sound of the SSL E Series channel strip.

This powerful module features a compressor/limiter and an expander/gate, faithfully replicating the key components and circuit design of the original SSL E Series dynamics section. The all-discrete design, identical to the Class A VCA chip used in the original, delivers exceptional sound quality. The True RMS sidechain ensures precise dynamics control, and the module offers advanced switching options for a linear release curve and the ability to defeat the over-easy curve, providing you with three distinct voicings for versatility.

Replicating the classic SSL E Series dynamics, this module includes the same facilities as the SSL X-Rack XR418 E Series Dynamics module (minus the ‘link’ bus). It’s perfect for producers and engineers seeking the legendary compression, limiting, and expansion heard on countless iconic recordings.
